“No one,” I whispered, my lips trembling with the emotion, “has ever made me feel like the person I’ve always wanted to be until you. You make me feel beautiful, Nate. All the way through. No one else has ever given me that. No one.”
“I’m glad,” he murmured against my mouth. “Not just because you deserve to feel that way … but because it makes you mine.”

Review

Olivia and Nate are definitely my second favorite couple after Joss and Braden. They were the best-friend-turned-lovers type of thing. It wasn’t so cheesy, though. It wasn’t as if Olivia spent the entire book pining after Nate.

Olivia was introduced as a confident, outgoing character in Jo and Cam’s book. However, she was insecure when it comes to men. She had a crush on a grad student at the library where she works. For that alone, I already loved the book. Yes, Olivia was aware of how hot and attracted she was with Nate. However, she did not have eyes for only him.

I loved the break up scene when Nate ended things and said that he did not love her the way she loved him. What you don’t know is that when I was in college, I wrote a book that was so close to this one, with the hero and heroine being really good friends until they sort of got into an affair that went too serious too fast and scared the shit out of the hero making him take a step back and withdraw and hurting the heroine in the process.

Yes, this premise has a soft spot in my heart. This is why I am giving this book five red hearts. I liked the chemistry between Olivia and Nate, even back when they first met. I already knew then that they were going to be the next couple. The moral of the story is that one should never get into a romantic relationship with a really good friend unless one intends for the relationship to last well into forever.

“I never meant to fall in love with you. But I did. I felt it the first night I made love to you. I tried to walk away then because I’ve never felt so lost and yet so fucking found as I felt that night looking into your eyes as I moved inside you.”

“You’re not ready to hear this yet,” he concluded. “But I do need you to know that I’m going to fight for you. I’m not making the mistake of walking away from you again. The only man in you future is me, Liv. The only kids in your future are mine.”
