“…There’s no possible way I won’t find you. Our hearts are tethered by love & fate. I’m tugging on that string-feel me?…”

This book is probably one of the most thrilling books I’ve ever read. The fact that this is also a novella just doubled the thrill factor all the more. These are all good things. This is not a story of prince charming rescuing a princess in distress. Yes, prince charming came just in time, but ultimately, it was the princess who slayed her own dragon.

When Grace was again taken by her kidnapper from ten years ago, things are completely different now. In the past, she was a helpless teenager who just watched her whole family die before being abducted. Now, she is a grown woman who is both brave and accomplished. She now has a lot of things to fight for.

I really liked it that Grace has shown admirable courage and fought her abductor this time. It was also commendable that when she thought she was pregnant, she did not panic and go into the usual Grace-mode. I also liked it that she thought of Vaughn when she was talking about her baby to the kidnapper. It showed us fans that Grace loved Vaughn as much as he loved her.

On the other side of things, I really enjoyed how Vaughn, Conner, and Felicity worked so well together to solve the puzzle of Grace’s kidnapper. I was over the moon with happiness when they finally were able to rescue her.

I can’t wait for the final book in this serial, where the conflict is now with Vaughn and his past. I hope it’s not so cringe-worthy that it turns me off of Vaughn for good, not when it’s finally their love story’s conclusion.

I have to admit that while both Grace and Vaughn got into my nerves on the first book, I started falling in like with Vaughn in Like and Block. I started admiring Grace in Status and now, with this book, I have complete respect for her for everything she went through. I am sure that the next two weeks of waiting will definitely drive me crazy, and the obsessive-compulsive in me doesn’t know just how to pass the time until then.
