“What are you giving him?”
She grins smugly. “Only the greatest gift a woman can give the man she loves.”
I take my best guess. “Anal?”
Kate covers her eyes.
Dee-Dee’s smile turns into a scowl. “No–pig. I’m giving him the gift of health. My acupuncturist cleared her schedule. She’s going to work on Matthew the whole day.”
I laugh. Because this explains so much.
“That’s your gift? Really? It’s the guy’s birthday and you’re gonna make him get needles stuck in his face all day? What are you gonna get him for Christmas – a colonoscopy?”

Review

Finally, we are now about to read about Drew and Kate getting married. After all the screw-ups and fights an misunderstandings, we will finally see these two fictional people we’ve come to enjoy spending time with make it all legal and official. Also, we get to read about them dealing with their baby, James, who they love unconditionally an without question.

We also see all the other secondary characters we’ve met in the previous books. I am going to rate this book four red hearts because it is such a good conclusion to a love story that has been volatile an passionate as it is stable and strong.

We read about Alexandra and Stephen’s marriage issues and how that was resolved. We also read about Matt and Dee and their adopted child they name Rain, which Drew has been itching to change. We also read about Jack and his hookup with Erin. Most of all, we also meet Billy again and his surprising and impulsive marriage to a stripper.

I like that Drew has now grown up. He is still the same insensitive brat, but he is no longer a jerk (well, maybe except to Dee and Warren but those are all for fun). I like that it is now easy for him to be faithful to Kate, that even when women chase after him, he no longer gives them any thought, and even when he had an erection for the stripper, he felt guilty about it. We finally see Drew with scruples. Kate, on the other hand, has become a confident woman who knows how to balance her career and her family. I like how they worke together in coming up with a solution on how to keep their careers and getting to spend quality time together as well.

I think a lot of people were disappointed because the most excited part of the book wasn’t really that exciting at all. Personally, I think it was just great. We’ve already had highs and lows throughout Drew and Kate’s love story. I feel that this book just gives us the happy ending we’ve all wanted but at at the same time showing us that Drew and Kate’s life will never be boring, nor will they be part of statistics. Their life together will still be full of ups and downs but Emma Chase shows us that these are two people who are now solid and that their love for each other and their family is unwavering.

“I’m not gonna wish you happiness, ’cause you’ve already got that. So I’ll just say, may the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon our face. May you live as long as you want, and never want as long as you live. May there be a generation of children on the children of your children. May you live to be a hundred years, with one extra year to repent. And may the saddest day of your and Kate’s future be no worse than the happiest day of your past.”
