She’s holding tight. He’s hanging loose.

Eve Monroe is a stock-car PR pro who puts her career first–until an on-track wardrobe malfunction reveals more than the sexy smile of jackman Nolan Ford. The video’s become an internet sensation, and it’s Eve’s job to calm the sponsors and put a spin on the unexpected exposure.

And they both have the same drive.

It may be a public relations job, but now that Eve’s seen what’s under Nolan’s crew suit, it’s gotten personal. After a few dates she has Nolan pretty revved up. If only she’d learn to relax and enjoy it. Nolan’s sure that the spontaneous birthday bash he’s throwing for Eve in Las Vegas should loosen her up. Somewhere between cocktails and a smoking-hot motel-room derby, it does more than that. Now Eve’s wrestling with feelings she never expected, as everything about her personal jackman gets harder than she ever imagined.

I am giving Eve and Nolan’s story four red hearts. Actually, was debating whether I should just give this book another three or if it was a notch higher than the previous three that cam before it. In the end, I decided to give it a four.

Nolan is one of the best guys. He had an easy demeanor that melted hearts, even one as hard as Eve’s. He also had a charming way about him that made me like him, even if I have never heard about him in the previous books.

I find that I did not like Eve that much. However, she was okay overall. She was loyal to her family. She was also a great sister. Even if she fights with her brothers almost all the time, it is still very clear that she loves them very much. Other than that, there wasn’t really much about her that I found endearing. It’s sad because I really wanted to like her.

I have to say, though, that the best thing about the book was Elec. Yep. He’s playing a vital role in this book. I really liked that because I’ve always loved Elec. He’s very sound and grounded. I love the conversations he had with Eve. I also liked how the whole conflict was resolved. Eve had to be the one to make the adjustments because she was the one with the issues, in the first place.

That’s one of the things I like about Erin McCacrthy. In this series, the books gets resolved in a way that the person who needed to make the most adjustment and compromise ended up doing what was needed to make things work. However, they are not left alone to deal with the issues on their own because their partners still work things out on their end as well. I just like that.

USA Today and New York Times Bestselling author Erin McCarthy sold her first book in 2002 and has since written almost fifty novels and novellas in teen fiction, new adult, and adult romance.
