“I miss you when you’re not with me. I think about you all the time. I want to sleep with you next to me at night, wake up with you snuggled up against me in the morning.”

Review

I really liked Carolina and Drew in the previous book. It was obvious then that they had chemistry and unfinished business. Drew was a class A jerk with what he did to Carolina back in college. However, they were both young then. This time around, they were mature enough and experienced enough to deal with things the way and adult should.

I have to say that I again enjoyed this series with this latest book. The plot is really very simple. However, because Jaci Burton wrote this book, it was entertaining enough, sexy enough, and hot enough for me to give it four red hearts. Carolina and Drew together were smoking.

I liked Carolina because she was so unlike a political daughter, let alone a daughter of a man as high up as the vice president of the US. She was hardworking and independent. There was no part of her that was spoiled or immature. She was also forgiving. She may have had trust issues with Drew, but she was still kind to him, even when he broke her heart again when he pulled away from her because he was confused.

Drew was hot too. I mean, he shouldn’t have done what he did when he bailed out on Carolina at first, but he more than made up for it. I also liked that he showed up at the fashion show, even if he was almost late. I really like Drew. If I had to date an athlete, I’d pick him in a heart beat.

Another good thing about the book was when Carolina went to their game in New Jersey and surprised him after their victory. It was just very sweet and thoughtful of her because Drew’s main issue was their team losing all their road games, and what Carolina did in showing up whether they won or not.

I’m almost down to the last published book in this series, and I can’t wait for the ones which are scheduled to be published next year. Play by Play has become a great sports contemporary romance series that has not become boring and has kept it’s level of hotness and sexiness at a consistent pace. There doesn’t seem to be any other series in this genre and subgenre that quite comes close to the entertainment factor that Play by Play provides.
