“Your life was bad; I see it in your eyes. When you grin, your face is empty, and I have no doubt when you smile, your eyes won’t shine like they should. One day though, baby, I will make them shine.”

A modern day biker romance.

Addison has had a hard life. Her mother is useless, and her father hasn’t been in her life for years. When her mother dies, she’s left with no money and an angry man after her. She goes to the only person she knows can take care of her right now – her father. She knows her father is the President of an MC club, but she doesn’t quite realize just how much she will come to rely on that club.

Cade is everything she knows she should stay away from, and yet she can’t seem to keep herself from wanting him. He’s the club VP, gorgeous, rugged, charming and he makes her feel again. She should be running, she should be escaping the demons of her past, but instead she finds herself falling for the gorgeous biker.

Come on this whirlwind romance with two broken people, who figure out how to put each other back together.

“Humans are like that sometimes, they seek something to put back together when they’re broken and can’t fix themselves. I guess it’s just a comfort; it makes us feel better, like we haven’t completely lost ourselves – we like to believe there’s still a part in there, that can be saved.”

I’ve read several book from Bella Jewel, and I’d have to say there were some that I found mediocre. This first book on The MC Sinners series is a good one, way above being mediocre. I am going to give this book four red hearts because the darkness in this book did not turn off the universal truth about love and family.

I liked her heroine because despite having a very hard life she was spunky and had spirit. She was open to friendship. Even if she had trouble trusting people, it was still obvious that she was hungry for love. I also liked the hero because he was strong and protective without being an ass about his protectiveness. He understood right away the things that the heroine needed.

This book shows that it doesn’t matter who you are, what you do, or where you’re from. We all have one thing in common. That need is love, in any form. Be it from a parent, a friend, a romantic relationship. We all want that. We all need that. We all need to be fought for. Bella Jewel has shown us a heroine who has not known love for as long as she was old enough to understand what it’s supposed to be. But because of special people that the heroine met, she has found love and family in unlikely places. The story of Addi and Cade shows all of us that love finds its way to everybody, even those who have been through the darkest of times.

“I’ve seen a lot of people in my life, and I’ve been with a lot of girls. None of them are as real as you. I’ll fuck you, sugar. I’ll claim you because you’re the meaning of need. You’re what I’ve been lookin’ for.”
