Review

I received a reviewer’s copy of this book from Indie Sage PR in exchange for an honest review and as part of the book’s blog tour promotion.

When I first started reading The Hooker And The Hermit, I was honestly thinking three red hearts. However, as I read on and slowly gained progress, I found myself getting hooked. At the end of the book, I can honestly say that this work deserves the four red hearts that I am rating it with.

The heroine, Annie, is an adorable character when she is they shy PR expert who was trying to avoid the hero’s blatant flirtations. She rubs me as a prickly human being when in the guise of her online personality. Overall, Annie was likeable and a bit relatable.

Ronan, the hero, was your typical sports jock. Hot. Flirt. Wealthy. Popular. However, like most heroes, there was more to him than first impressions, a kind of depth that was unexpected but not unwelcome. I found his dirty talking antics funny and his innuendos humorous. All in all, he was also a character who was so easy to like.

The collaboration between the two authors worked perfectly, much to our good fortune as readers. The plot may not be completely original. However, the entertainment factor that this book gives us readers is truyly one of a kind. It is an enjoyable contemporary romance that charms you and makes you not want to stop until you’ve reached the very last page.

“But here lies the rub: she’s all I think about. She’s the only person I want to spend time with. I’m fascinated by every little thing she does. And the fact of the matter is, I’m in love with her. Heartbreakingly, soul-wrenchingly, earth-shatteringly in love with her. It’s nothing like I’ve ever felt before. And I need her to love me back more than I need to take my next breath. I can’t imagine a greater agony than this big, pulsing, fierce love I have for her being unreciprocated. I would rather take a hundred blows to the head out on the field, suffer a thousand concussions, than not have her beside me for the rest of my life.”
