Main Characters: Sloan Caldwell, Aidan Kendrick

Why is the wrong man always the hardest to resist?

Aidan Kendrick may be rich, mysterious and hot as anything, but he’s also surly, brooding and deeply troubled. Not the kind of guy Sloan Caldwell can really afford to get mixed up with. She’s head of the historical society, so her sole interest in the enigmatic newcomer, she keeps reminding herself, is the heritage home he’s renovating on Palmer’s Island. Right. He’s tall, dark and gorgeous spelled with a capital G. Soon Sloan’s attention is focused only on the bedroom as she and Aidan give in to a lust that’s as intense as it is immediate, and pleasure is the only object…until tragedy interrupts, and they have to catch a killer!

The love story and the conflict is simple. However, I liked the chemistry between the hero and the heroine. The mystery is also a simple one to solve, but it was fun to read.

I also loved the town and the stories behind the people who lived in it. There’s always something fun about a small town where everybody knew everybody. There’s a warm, welcoming atmosphere. However, the disadvantage was that everybody was into your business.

For a Harlequin romance, this book was fairly enjoyable with a good pacing, sizzling romance, a thrilling suspense, and a great overall feel. It’s a book any reader will easily enjoy.
