The last place Rosalina expected the clue to a 700-year-old mystery to lead is back into the arms of Archer, the one man who broke her heart. But neither can solve the puzzle without the other, so together they set off on a new adventure, weaving from Tuscany’s underbelly to Archer’s luxurious yacht in the Greek Islands, trying to ignore the sparks that still fly unhindered between them.

Archer desperately wants to salvage the relationship he shattered years before, but fighting for Rosalina’s love soon takes a back seat to fighting for their lives. They aren’t the only one on the trail for the treasure, and their competition isn’t bothered by ethics and morals to achieve their goals. With evil close on their trail, and Archer wrestling with the remnants of a childhood tragedy, Rosalina begins to wonder if perhaps there are some secrets that were never meant to be revealed.

I received a copy of this book from CBB Book Promotions in exchange for an honest review.

I was quite surprised to have enjoyed this book. I was expecting a romance with adventure on the side. What I got was much more than that. I absolutely enjoyed every page of the book. Then again, that should not come as a surprise considering the author, Kendall Talbot, has a great reputation going for her.

Rosalina and Archer’s story is one of second chances and acceptance, not just of each other but of one’s self. I started out a bit on the fence regarding Archer. I didn’t like how he broke up with Rosalina. And then he still ended up telling her the story. After he already broke her heart. After the damage was done.

Anyway, I liked Rosalina from start to finish. She was a great heroine, strong, loyal, brave. I was on her team the whole book. I liked the way that the author wrote this story. It wasn’t just about the romance. There was mystery, secrets, adventure and lots more. I don’t think there are many books out there that offers as many facets to it as this book does.

I am going to rate this book four red hearts because it was truly entertaining and fun to read. It was a complete package, and I wouldn’t mind re-visiting this book every now and then.

Brisbane author Kendall Talbot’s used to daydream about robbing the bank she worked in. Thanks to her husband’s gift of writing lessons in 2008 she decided to write about it instead.
An adrenaline junkie and mum of two Kendall says, “I love the idea of screaming and the feeling you get when you are about to jump.” Now-a-days she gets the same rush writing action adventure scenes.
Her debut novel “Lost in Kakadu” won the Australian Romantic Book of the Year in 2014. Amongst the great reviews Kendall was quizzed on how to make the famous “bra slingshot’ that featured in the book.
Rosalina, the heroine in Kendall’s new book “Treasured Secrets” is a chef in Tuscany and the Greek Islands. Food, flavours and romance sustain our heroine as ruthless competition will do anything to prevent her from solving a 700 year mystery to a great missing treasure.
Recipes from “Treasured Secrets” debut in their own book “Rosalina’s Treasured Treats” you can cook along as you read the book.
Next on Kendall’s hit list is the Crime novel she’s long dreamed of. Yes she’s robbing that bank! Set in Brisbane in 1992 “Double Take” is scheduled for release September 2015.
