Synopsis

Revenge is a dish best served in the bedroom

Claire arrives in Hopetown with one plan—con the ruthless magnate who tore her life apart. But Liam Channing does not appear to be the cold-hearted villain she has plotted to gleefully ruin. Revenge on the man who stole her family farm and rendered them destitute, should be reason enough for her fortitude of steel, especially when it’s her only shot at winning custody of her baby sister. Yet, somehow Liam has a way of reducing Claire’s defenses to fluff.

Unfortunately Claire’s nagging doubts do little to sway her cousin, Geoff, from their plan to con Liam Channing out of half his wealth. Geoff won’t let his prize go without drawing more than a little blood.

When Liam awakens with no memory of his drunken Vegas wedding, the con is on. But with love and loyalties warring, Claire must decide if she will take the final steps to destroy the man who has captured her heart.

Review

I received a copy of this book from Reading Addiction Virtual Books Tours in exchange for an honest review.

Deceiving The Groom is a fast, easy read about revenge, family, and love. The heroine initially set out to seek revenge on the hero for past wrongs that she feels were the hero’s fault. Urged on by her cousin, the heroine has everything planned out until she meets the hero and gets to know the real person beneath.

I liked this book because it was a light read with a touch of action and suspense. We have a hot hero who is a softy underneath, especially when it comes to his niece, who is now under his guardianship. We have a heroine who was loyal to her family. Their chemistry was great.

There were somee things that I only liked, not loved, in the book. One example is that although their chemistry was so obvious, the relationship between the hero and the heroine just had so much of the insta-love factor that it kind of seemed too fictional for me. Also, the epilogue where the entire family was now complete was mentioned only in passing when it was the core of the heroine’s motivation in seeking revenge.

Regardless of a thing or two that I didn’t like that much, this book was still a good read that I really liked and would recommend to anyone looking for a fast readd to entertain them in between not so busy hours in their day. It’s my first book from this author, but if her other books are even half as good as this book, then I will definitely be picking her up again.
