Review

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

8 Weeks is about a married couple who is faced with the ultimate trial when the husband wakes up with another woman in his bed and him having no memory of what happened. Surely, he had sex with her, right? So, how do you tell your wife about it? Should you even tell her?

I always thought that honesty isn’t always the best. I mean, if you’ve messed up and you know that telling the truth will hurt the other person, is it really worth it? If they can live the rest of their lives not knowing and live that life is peace and happiness, isn’t that much better? When you confess, are you really doing it for the other person ot are you just trying to lose the guilt that hovers over you?

Personally, if I did something like that, whether it was intentional or not, whether I remember it clearly or not, I wouldn’t say anything. The guilty conscience and the heavy heart is my cross to bear. I wouldn’t want to see the look of hurt and betrayal on the other person’s face. I wouldn’t want them to carry the burden with me. No. I screwed up. I will pay for it alone. And I will try my damn best to never let that happen again. If I learned anything from that mistake, then it certainly won’t happen again.

Anyway, back to the book, 8 Weeks is a wonderful story of pain, separation, forgiveness, and love. Never mind that they will never realy know what happened. Never mind that all things that happened that night was a blur and a big blank. If the heroine can forgive the hero, and the hero can forgive himself, then they’ll be okay.

Bethany Lopez has written a sweet and full of emotions. The other characters who are also going to have their own books are also interesting characters that I would like to know as well. All in all, I definitely enjoyed this book and would definitely read another one from the author in the future.
