Review

I received an ARC of this book from AToMR Promotions in exchange for an honest review and as part of the book’s release day promotions.

I liked the premise of this book. I know that the characters are somehow already familiar and connected with the author’s previous books. However, this book is a standalone. Anyway, back to the premise, I kind of like the idea of this story.

I liked the hero of this book. Seriously, what’s not to like about Max, right? I think that fans of Ms. Ryan who’ve followed her previous books have been waiting to read more about Max. This book is a best way to get people to fall more in love with him as a character. The heroine wasn’t so bad as well. However, when you have a hero like the one in this book, it’s difficult to top that, unless the heroine is one kickass lady who definitely gets more lovable with every page.

I truly liked this book. The story had meat and heat at the same time. Of course, Lexi Ryan is a trusted name when it comes to good, solid romance novels. With this book, she further solidifies her place in an industry that’s tough and filled with amazing competition. Playing With Fire is said to be a first book for a new series. If that’s the case, sign me up for more because I’d definitely enjoy reading more of her works.
