Review

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I love the friends-to-lovers trope. I really find it sweet that two people who already love each other also fall in love and find that love they have grow into something romantic as well. Therefore, this book from Christa McHugh is definitely something that I’d enjoy reading. And I did enjoy it.

All in all, Here All Along has a good story. A heroine who has had a tough time with fame until she hit rock bottom. A hero who was in love with her for a while and has been with her during the tough times. A love that may be put to test by having that spotlight on it. The characters of the book were also very likable.

There are some minor things that I found myself questioning. First, if the heroine really wanted to be out of the limelight, why would she work as an assistant to a popular Hollywood star? Also, I feel like the ending was rushed and didn’t really give the main characters time to develop on their own. I liked this book, but I would have liked it a lot better if I didn’t have the minor issues. It is still a good book, though, and it is something to not miss if you’ve read from this author before and, of course, if you’ve followed this series as well.
