Review

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I always enjoy this author’s romance novels. Her heroes are all alpha, protective males. Lots of them work in the law enforcement. Her heroines usually seem to need protection and help at first, but they turn out to be strong women after all. The good thing about this book was that it had all the elements that people expect from LMR’s romantic suspense novels. There’s action, there’s mystery, there’s a huge conflict of an international level, and there’s always intelligence needed in solving the case. All in all, this is a pretty good book that’s standard of the author.

The reason why I am not rating this any more than three red hearts is the hero himself. Seriously. I mean, he definitely treated the heroine wrong. He made douche moves that even I couldn’t get past at. I wish there would have been a lengthy part of him groveling and begging for another chance. Instead, the sins of the past kind of got buried because of the suspense aspect of the story. I think that out of LMR’s heroes, this one is my least favorite.

I would still recommend this book because it does have a good story and the exciting parts are actually enjoyable. If you’ve followed this series, you mustn’t miss this installment at all.
