I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I initially thought that the plot hinged on a weird situation. I mean, we’ve all gotten text from unknown numbers who turn out to be people we know and were just using another phone or had their numbers changed. However, if that were me, I would always have replied and clarified who the person on the other end of the line was. I am cautious like that. Therefore, I found it difficult to relate to the heroine’s predicament when she was caught in the middle of chaos only because she thought she was meeting up with her sister.

Anyway, it all turned out to be a blessing because that’s where she met the hero. Therefore, while I found it a bit stupid of her to meet someone without really making sure she had the right person, I’d have to commend her luck. I wish that there was more room for the romance to develop. I understand insta-love, but I also try to look for things that show that a particular fictional relationship was going to last. What happened is that I even liked the other aspects of the book better than I liked the love story. I didn’t even care about the happy ending. Instead, I found that I liked the humor, action, and suspense much better than the romance.
