“It seems like every time we need something, life finds a way to tell us to sit and wait.”

I received an ARC of this book from TRSOR in exchange for an honest review and as part of this book’s blog tour promotions.

What can I say? I definitely, definitely loved this book. You know, there are just some books you start reading at 2AM because you just can’t sleep yet, so you just have to read something until your eyes get too heavy and sleep swallows you? This is not that book. I am telling you think because the moment I read Torn Hearts, the introductory novella, until the very last page of Paper Hearts, sleep was definitely the last thing on my mind, even if the sun was already up and about.

I loved the story. I loved the characters. I loved the secondary characters. I loved Jensen’s daughter. I loved everything in the book. Claire Contreras has managed to put together the emotions on Kaleidoscope Hearts and magnified it ten times more with Paper Hearts. If you loved Estelle and Oliver, you will absolutely fall more in love with Mia and Jensen. And OMG, Jensen was just amazing.

Another thing I loved in the book was the parts that were Jensen’s column in the magazine. They were real, heartfelt, and entertaining. The story was completely believable. The characters’ reactions to situations that they faced were all real. You could easily imagine any person doing the things they did and making the choices they made.

I cannot talk about this book enough without spoilers because there were just so many things and parts of the book that stuck with me. This has got to be one of my favorite reads this year. I wish we’d see a book for Victor because he was funny in this book, and he’s been an important character in the series. I am definitely a fan of Ms. Contreras, and I highly recommend this book and any other book she has.

“And I say to you, Mia Bennett—my photographer, my eyes, the girl of my dreams, the villain in my nightmares—that everything I owe, I owe to the night you let me look into your eyes and see the possibilities the world had to offer.”
