Review

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I found the story of this book to be a bit on the unbelievable side. I mean, I just couldn’t believe the coincidence that the heroine answered a phone that wasn’t hers and got to talking to the hero and started what would be a passionate relationship that opens the heroine to a world of sexual possibilities. The reason why I found this to be unbelievable was that aside from the fact that this almost never happens in real life, I felt like the heroine’s character was inconsistent. I mean, she was supposed to be this abused, emotional wreck who has had nothing but bad people surrounding her all her life, right? I think it was a bit too impossible for her to jump into an adventurous relationship with someone when their only connection was their phone conversations.

I loved their conversations, though. Those were really steamy. I enjoyed reading about how that relationship started to become deeper. They both had lots of secrets about their lives, but their connection was really obvious. One thing I didn’t like about this book was the cliffhanger. I mean, I’m all for cliffhangers and shit, but I wish they’d be paced and placed the right way. I think that this book could actually just be rolled into one full length standalone novel. I think I may read the next book just so I’d know what happens to the main characters..
