Review

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I haven’t read the first book in this series. Even so, I got the jist of the animosity between the main characters in the beginning. I liked that they started out like this. It always adds tension, and, for me, more tension always means more passion. I want to keep this review short because there really isn’t much to say about the whole book. All in all, I enjoyed reading the book. I liked the heroine’s character. She was rich but was not spoiled. She wasn’t even rebellious. If she hadn’t caught her fiance cheating on her, she would have married him all because it’s what her parents wanted. The hero was kind of okay too, even if the depth of his characters wasn’t enough for me.

I just wish there was more of the relationship being shown than what was told in the book. I’m sure the HEA is enough to mean that they will live happily ever after. However, I am not convinced. If this was real life, a relationship like theirs wouldn’t make it. Yes, there were sweet parts, but I just couldn’t feel the chemistry and the intensity of their feelings. Then again, this is fiction, so I guess that should be enough. Anyway, while I liked this story, I’d have to say that it was sweet and nice, but didn’t really sweep me off my feet.
