Review

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Imagine having a one night stand and getting pregnant from that said one night stand. You don’t hear anything from the guy, and you don’t tell him about having his kid as well. Then, after 11 years, you find that guy standing on your door, wanting to catch up with you. That’s exactly what happened to the heroine. It wasn’t the hero’s fault that he didn’t know about the kid because the heroine decided not to tell him.

I liked and enjoyed this book, but I honestly have to say that it didn’t blow me away. I have read books from Nina Croft before, and I also enjoyed those. This book is sweet and sexy. Sweet because of the daughter. Also, the hero wasn’t a bad man, he just had a bad history. Sexy because the hero and the heroine together really had great chemistry.

Aside from the one-night-stand-turned-parents kind of story, this was also about two people who are opposites when it comes to reputation and career. The heroine was a police officer. The hero was an ex-con. The heroine was very serious with her career and needed her peers to take her seriously, being that she was a woman. Being associated with people like the hero can damage her career. It is a story about fighting for what you want and standing up for it. It’s a good book that I will gladly recommend.
