Review

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Let me start this review with the best thing about this book- the cover. I mean, I really love the cover on the entire series. Sarah Castille’s other series didn’t have covers as pretty as the ones on this series. Anyway, because I’ve followed this series since day one, I’ve been excited for this book since I got the ARC. I can’t say that I didn’t like it, because I did. It’s just that it wasn’t as satisfying as I was expecting.

Let me tell you why. The heroine, I sometimes thought she was TSTL. Honestly. I don’t like Viper. I can still remember the things he did in Rough Justice. But there were even times when I wanted him to slap some sense into Evie. I mean, girl, you’re running around with the president of an MC. The least you could do is get to know the MC that that man is running. And then the things she did and said to Zane. Come on. Just kill me already. Arianne and Dawn weren’t perfect heroines, but they were clearly old lady material. I couldn’t see how Evie was an old lady material, like they kept saying in the book. I couldn’t decide if she was naive or just ignorant.

For all of my dislike for the heroine, she was actually the only thing I didn’t like in the book. Zane and the rest of the sinners were consistent in the sense that they are badass and dangerous. Would have liked to have gotten more Cade, but well, this isn’t his book in the first place. Plot-wise and style-wise, Sarah Castille is great. There is no book from her I didn’t enjoy. Therefore, even if this is only a three out of five for me, I would still recommend this book in a heartbeat.
