I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I’ve been in love with Jessica Clare’s billionaires ever since Logan and Bronte got stranded together in an island. I read and loved every single one out of that series. When the spin-off started, I was immediately excited to dive into it. Unfortunately, the first book in this series wasn’t that big of a hit for me. I’m not sure what happened. I liked it, but it wasn’t really what I was expecting. The second book was also good. Actually, it was better.
This book, though, has to be the best in the series, so far. While every other book had the Jessica Clare formula, I still felt like they lacked something. Not with this book. This book felt complete, whole. It was entertaining, sexy, light, a bit funny, and totally enjoyable. it may have something to do with the fact that the main characters go into a quick marriage before they fell in love. This kind of trope reminds me of those Harlequin books that I used to read a lot, but with Ms. Clare writing it, the story has been made steamier and more modern.
It is no question that this author belongs to the top group when it comes to authors in the contemporary romance genre, even in the chick lit subgenre. Her heroes are always swoon-worthy men who are rich, successful, and every bit alpha males. Her heroines are ordinary girls that any female reader can easily relate to. This third book is definitely a must read. Even if you haven’t read the previous two books, you can read this book on its own and fall in love with it. I know I can never go wrong when I choose a book by Ms. Clare.
