Review

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I have to admit that as big a fan as I am of Kristen Ashley, recently, I haven’t gotten a book from her that swept me off my feet. The last one was probably Deacon, and I loved it for the broken man who found the love of a good woman. I loved every page of that book. After Deacon, I hit a low and couldn’t find any book from her that I truly loved. I liked one or two, but that was it.

Now, with High and Millie’s story, I got it again. Of all Chaos men, High would have been the least likely hero I expected to like. I mean, I wasn’t the much of a fan of him in Motorcycle Man, and he always seems to have existed in the background since the Chaos series began. However, this book gave me a badass biker who was loyal, who loved firecely and completely, and could say the right things at the right time.

This story broke my heart. What Millie did for High, what she sacrificed for him, it was a testament to how selfless real love could be. She was willing to be the enemy, to have him hate her, just so he could have the life that they would have been denied of. My favorite Chaos man, Tack, was a little harsh here, but it was because he protected those he loved, and he thought Millie hurt High for the wrong reasons. I like that Tyra was the Tyra who believed in dreams and true love and all that shit. To sum it all, I loved this book. I couldn’t put it down the moment I started reading it. This comes highly recommended.
