Review

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Let me be honest here. At first, I just couldn’t quite connect with the main characters. I understood the dom in Zac, the way he wanted to claim Eva, the way he wanted to own her, everything about her, good and bad. I did not understand Eva. I mean, I didn’t know if she was obtuse, naive, insensitive or blind. Seven years and she never even thought that Zac wanted her in a certain way. Can anybody be more self-centered than her? Like really.

Then, as the book progressed, I began to like Eva. She may have taken awhile, but once she saw Zac as a man, she was there right away. It was now Zac that I couldn’t understand. I mean, seven years he waitedly patiently. Then, when he was getting the girl, he was thinking about leaving and all that negative stuff. Talk about confusing.

Before I realized what was happening, I was already sucked into the characters and the story. The bigger story in the series was very exciting. I liked the other two couples, and while I haven’t read their books, I still enjoyed this third book on its own and still understood the gist of the Nine Circles series. Now, though, I am thinking of going back and reading books 1 and 2. Also, that epilogue in this book? It just got me super excited for book 4. Like really, really excited.
