A dark romance about the lies that lead us down…

I’ll do anything to get safe, even if that means working at the scariest club in town.

I’ll do anything to stay hidden, even if it means taking off my clothes for strangers.

I’ll do anything to be free. Except give him up. When he looks at me, I forget why I can’t have him. He’s beautiful and scarred. His body fits mine, filling the places where I’m hollow, rough where I am soft.

He’s the one man who wants to help, but he has his own agenda. He has questions I can’t answer. What are you afraid of?

I received an audio copy of this book from IndieSage PR in exchange for an honest review and as part of the audio book’s blog tour promotions.
I love Skye Warren. I remember the first time I read dark erotica. It was one of her books. Well, actually, I read Anne Rice’s Beauty series before, but Ms. Warren’s book was the first one to introduce me to this genre. I love scenes of dubious consent, dark heroes, tortured heroines, and broken hearts on love stories that seem to have no redemption. Sometimes, I take a break from the genre because it just gets so intense, but I always go back after a time or two.

I read Tough Love, and I got so hooked and intrigued. I wanted to know what happens next to the two sisters. I was really thinking Clara was going to get the first book, but okay, the other sister does. And that’s really fine because I liked Honor. She was brave, and she loved her sister.

When I first read this book, I wasn’t really that sold into the story. It wasn’t as dark as what I was expecting from the author. It leaned to much on the romantic side. It felt like it was pushing the chemistry and the relationship. With her other books, the reader would immediately feel the connection between the characters, even before their first scene alone. It wasn’t so much like that on this book.

When I listened to it on audio, I found that I enjoyed it more. There are only a few books that I enjoy more on audio, and this is one of those. I liked listening to the story. It became more alive on audio than on paper/ereader. I am going to get to the second book right away because this author just has a way of sucking me in and making me excited for more.
