Review

I received an ARC of this book from Tasty Book Tours in exchange for an honest review and as part of the book’s blog tour promotions.

Second chances. I love these stories. I don’t know what it is about second chances that always touches me. From the start, this book was already a guaranteed good read because I don’t think anybody could go wrong with Melissa Foster and Bella Andre. I mean, these names alone are already trustworthy names in the contemporary romance genre. When I read the blurb for Cape Cod Promises, I just couldn’t not read it.

The thing about the book was that the character development and progress more than made up for the lack of drama and conflict. But who needs those anyway? I just enjoyed reading about the main characters’ journey. The transition from exes to friends to lovers again. It was quite clear from the very start that while they had issues in their marriage, it wasn’t because they didn’t love each other enough.

I love this book because every married couple can take a few things from the story. You can fall deep in love when you’re only 19. That person can be the right one for you. But that’s not where the story ends. That is only the beginning. Marriage shouldn’t be the end of the road, the end of the love story. It should be the start of something new, something more difficult, like moving on to the next level on your favorite online game. There’s so many things you can actually learn from the story. That’s why I know I’m right when I say that the authors truly did a wonderful job with this book.
