Review

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve never read a book from Jessica Lemmon. I’ve heard of her, and I’ve seen some of her books around the romance community, but I haven’t tried her out at all. Then I was granted access to this book’s ARC, and I was really glad because this is the first book in its series, so that meant I get to start a new series with a new-to-me author.

To be honest, I didn’t really expect much. I’ve been there, done that, and I know that putting too much expectation on an author I haven’t tried could possibly lead to extreme disappointment. That’s why I went into this book just trying to feel out its vibe. When I came across something I liked in the book, I was glad. When there were things that didn’t really entertain me, I didn’t get too annoyed.

Surprisingly, I truly enjoyed this book. I liked the background story of the male main character. I think he was very interesting to read. Now, the heroine, on the other hand, was my favorite character. I think I always like women who learned their lesson, grew up, and tried to live a straight life. I also like it if they are really still wild inside because it meant that they will someday find a man who can handle their wildness. Therefore, for a first book, I quite liked what I got. I will be following this series. The second one is supposed to come out next year, so I’ll be one of those waiting for it.
