Synopsis: Levi Black is an s.o.b.

Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he’s a pretentious, obnoxious, womanizing jacka** who thinks the world revolves around him.

He wouldn’t be wrong.

A famous soccer player, his skills on and off the field have won him medals, trophies, women, and the cover of every heartthrob magazine in the country. He’s broken nearly every bone in his body and a few hearts along the way, including mine—his stepsister—and lived to tell about it.

One night changed everything, and I’ve avoided him like the plague ever since. Just long enough to finish college, to bury the hurt, and to outrun the memories. But now that’s all changed. I’m back, and there’s no more running.

My hands are supposed to be my livelihood, but now they’re my curse. Levi’s reckless ways have landed him in a sticky situation, and his father has given me an offer I can’t refuse. One month, and all I have to do is put my hands on his body. Easier said than done. The problem is, even though I know it’s bound to bite me in the a**, I can’t bring myself to say no to the s.o.b.

Review

I received an ARC of this book from IndieSage PR in exchange for an honest review and as part of the book’s blog tour promotions.

I’ve read enough stepbrother romance novels to say that S.O.B. is several notches above anything else I’ve read so far. Usually, stepbrother romances focus too much on the relationship, forcing us to hold on to the fact that the love between main characters is taboo and should be supressed at all costs. We get it. It’s not very common for stepsiblings to fall in love. However, I personally believe there is nothing taboo or forbidden about it. We fall in love with a person, not with how they are related to us.

S.O.B. doesn’t put too much spotlight on the “stepsiblings” angle. I mean, yes, that’s a huge factor in the relationship and their actions are often influenced by that fact. However, that it not all that drives this book. Here, we have a hero who was sincere and a heroine who’s been hurt before. It is a joy to read their journey, how they figured things out, how the resolved their issues, how they stood up for themselves and for love. So yes, this is a stepbrother romance novel. However, this kind of love and conflict can happen to anyone else. That’s why this book is such an enjoyable read that I will happily recommend.
