Delaney, a professional bodyguard, has spent years trying to prove herself in a male dominated industry. Now she’s facing her greatest challenge yet.

Bad boy billionaire Jax Shields has made plenty of enemies on his climb to the top, but being in the wrong place at the wrong time has put his life at risk. Now he’s putting his life in the hands of Delaney and her team. He demands the best in everything, and he doesn’t think she has what it takes to protect him. He’s also made it clear he’d rather have her on her back then covering his. Will Delaney be able to prove herself to the most arrogant—and devastatingly handsome—man she’s ever met?

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

To be perfectly honest, this series wasn’t as great as I thought they would be. The first book didn’t work for me. I wasn’t sold on the heroine. The hero was fine, but he sounded better in the books where he was just a minor character. When he got his own book, his character didn’t seem too interesting anymore. The second book was better. However, it was too much of an insta-love for me. Plus, I didn’t like the hero. He started out as a jerk, and I didn’t quite get to the point where he was completely redeemed in my eyes.

This book, though, was a challenge for me. I was afraid to read it because I didn’t want to be disappointed. On the other hand, I knew I had to read it because this is the last in its series, and I’ve already read the other two, so I might as well finish what I started. Fortunately, I liked this book. The characters weren’t my favorites, but I have to admire the heroine for standing up for herself in a job where men always underestimated her.

I liked that this series is called Alpha’s Heart. Many people will think the alpha is the hero. However, I believe the real alphas in the series are the heroines. From a bounty hunter, to a mechanic, and now a bodyguard, these heroines are kicking ass in a hugely man’s world, with a man’s profession. I liked this book, but I think, all in all, my favorite in the series would be the second book. While the hero wasn’t so great, the heroine was pretty special. Overall, I would still recommend this series because the books are all solid. I’ve read better from Bella Jewel, but I know a lot of readers will still appreciate her Alpha’s Heart series.
