Synopsis

Paralyzed by the past and terrified of the future, Tabitha Kelly is broken.

After a public sex scandal at her college, Tabby moves to a new city with a new school, convinced she can start over. But she soon realizes the changes are not enough. Tabby must take action to help her heal and move on from the past.
And though it sounds crazy, she believes a one-night stand is the best way to take back what’s hers. If she can choose where, when, and most importantly, who … maybe she can regain control.
First, she needs a willing participant.

She finds more than that when she meets Noah Adler.

Unfortunately, she can’t go through with it. And when she tries to forget about the plan—and the guy—it becomes impossible.

Noah quickly weaves his way into her new life and her heart. But as he comes dangerously close to discovering her secret, Tabby’s at risk of losing it all.

Review

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve read about a couple of books from this author before, and I remember that I enjoyed them. When I saw the opportunity to review this book, I didn’t hesitate to do so. I mean, the worst that could happen was that I wouldn’t like the book. And that’s not really such a bad thing because there are different strokes for different folks, after all, right? Anyway, it is fortunate that I actually enjoyed this book. But let me tell you about the good and the bad.

First, I liked both main characters individually. I don’t think that much happened in the story for me to like them both together, but on their own, they were pretty much well-written and interesting characters. I also liked the pull between them, but I don’t think I ever really got to the point where I was completely sold. All in all, this book was solid. I enjoyed the angst and the challenges. There were a few swoon-worthy moments, but mostly, it was full of angst. Anyway, for an NA novel, I’d say this belonged in the middle of the pack. Not the best, but definitely one of the good ones.
