A woman in danger…

Serena Brooks is a bestselling author of erotic fiction. She knows how to write a happy ending but hasn’t managed to find one of her own. Divorced and alone, she has no one to turn to when a stalker begins to threaten her life. The cops don’t believe her. Her ex-husband thinks she’s making the whole story up. She has no one left to turn to except a pair of hired bodyguards. They promise to guard her body, but no one can protect her heart.

Two men in search of love…

Adam Miles and Jacob Dean are halves of a whole. They’ve spent their entire adult lives searching for the one woman who can handle them both. Adam is the playful, indulgent lover, while Jacob is the possessive, loving Dom. When Serena comes into their lives, Adam is certain that she’s the one. But Jacob’s past comes back to haunt them all. He is suspicious of Serena’s story, and his concerns are driving a wedge between him and Adam. But when the stalker strikes, they will have to come together or lose each other forever…

I received a copy of this book from InkSlinger PR in exchange for an honest review.

This is only the second, but, already, the thrill seems to have escalated more. Maybe it’s the fact that we have three people in this love story. However, I find that this book was hotter than the first one. Sure, there weren’t many sex scenes as one would expect. However, every sex scene was hot and titillating. That’s why I think this book is sexier.

Story-wise. I love the suspense that was all about the heroine’s stalker. I also love that the heroine was an erotic romance author. I think it was a great fit because she’d be in a menage relationship anyway. The two heroes weren’t my favorite heroes. However, I have to admit that their bond and friendship was solid and if any woman would want to be in a menage, these two men would be the perfect candidates. Individually, though, they were far from perfect and at more than one point in the book, it was hard for me to understand them.

Anyway, regardless of the fact that I am not a big fan of the male main characters, the story of this book alone is enough for me to really enjoy the every page. It was really a great decision on my part when I went back to the beginning of this series. I now understand why Masters and Mercenaries a very popular series in the contemporary romance genre with BDSM elements.

NY Times and USA Today bestselling author Lexi Blake lives in North Texas with her husband, three kids, and the laziest rescue dog in the world. She began writing at a young age, concentrating on plays and journalism. It wasn’t until she started writing romance and urban fantasy that she found the stories of her heart. She likes to find humor in the strangest places and believes in happy endings no matter how odd the couple, threesome, or foursome may seem.

Her first novel, Their Virgin Captive: Masters of Ménage, Book 1, was a collaboration with New York Times bestselling author Shayla Black. There are five more books available in the series: Their Virgin’s Secret, Their Virgin Concubine, Their Virgin Princess, Their Virgin Hostage, and Their Virgin Secretary. The next book in the series, Their Virgin Mistress, is releasing this April.

In addition to the Masters of Ménage series, she is the author of the Masters and Mercenaries series. There are eight full-length novels and four novellas available now, with more coming in 2015.

In 2013, Lexi also began releasing her urban fantasy series, Thieves. The first five are available now, with Ripper, a spin-off to the series, coming in 2015.
