Praise for HARDBALL:

Hardball is one of those books that will suck you in and won’t let you go until you devour every last, juicy bite.”

They call Dash Wallace the Diamond King.
He’s the hottest commodity in baseball and in the bedroom.
When he runs the bases, every woman’s eyes are glued to his stunning body and a smile that puts the night lights to shame.
I’m no queen. I’m a regular girl with a regular job. I just watch him on TV and from the bleachers, season after season.
Girls like me grab a guy like that one in a million times.
My number just came up, and he is as spectacular in bed as he is on the field.
But there’s not a woman in the world who can distract Dash Wallace from the game. Not for a moment. Not even me.
Until the night I do. And everything changes.
I received an ARC of this book from Social Butterfly PR in exchange for an honest review and as part of the book’s blog tour promotions.
If you’ve ever read anything from CD Reiss before, then you know that her books are always the really intense, darker kind. Therefore, reading Hardball was a refreshing change for me. Her characters didn’t have that dark, tragic back story. Yes, both main characters weren’t perfect, but neither were they trapped in seemingly hopeless situations where walking in the dark side is the only out. The hero was a bit larger than life because he was a popular athlete that people knew. The heroine, though, she was your everyday, ordinary girl. She could be anyone you know.
On paper, this book sounded really simple. It sounds like any other contemporary romance where this player/jock who initially wasn’t cut out for relationships meets the quiet, most unlikely girl and falls in love. However, with Ms. Reiss as the author, everything about this book is elevated, more intense. I really liked both main characters, even the supporting characters all had purpose in the book.
I really loved reading something like this from Ms. Reiss. I am a fan of her, yes, but it’s books like this that really make me remember her name among other authors because this is one book that I can always go back to revisit. I definitely recommend this book because this book hooked me in, entertained me, and took me on a solid, emotional journey that I really appreciate.
About the Author:
CD Reiss is a USA Today bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn’t pick up she’s at the well hauling buckets.
Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master’s degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.
She’s frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn’t ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood.
If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.
