His every breath is filled with the last gasp of his dying prey.
But for some reason he doesn’t kill me.
I don’t know which is worse, the death sentence hanging over my head, or being at his mercy.
To be honest, I was expecting this book to be darker than it actually is. I mean, the blurb just basically painted so many dark scenarios for me. However, this book was more contemporary than dark. And it wasn’t a bad thing. For what it’s worth, I’ve read my fair share of dark reads, and I appreciate books that tread both contemporary and dark genres.
I haven’t read anything from this author before. And I’m glad that I got to read this book because I really liked it. Her characters were created in a solid, relatable way. Not relatable because the situations were realistic, but their personalities were relatable. I liked the heroine, and I enjoyed witnessing her development. I also liked the drama and emotion that this book had. All in all, I truly enjoyed it, and I’d definitely be checking out other books from Ms. Horst from now on.
Michelle Horst is from a small town in South Africa.
She’s been in love with reading from an early age. She has a passion for books, quotes and animals.
She first tried her hand at writing in early 2009 and as the first words started to form into a book, she knew she was hooked.
Dreams spilled onto pages, and that was the beginning of a wonderful journey. A journey filled with joy, passion and heart stopping moments. Most of all, it’s filled with such pride and peace as a story comes to life, and characters fill your life, living in the very walls of your mind, living in the minds of your readers.
