Second chance romance. Now here’s another trope that I absolutely love, aside from the friends-to-lovers theme. We are now in the fourth book of the Wild Boys After Dark series. I must say that I was initially intrigued by this series because this is probably the first racier books from Melissa Foster. Knowing her, I knew that the series would be a hit, and that I’d at least like them. I didn’t think I’d love all four books, which is, of course, a great thing because it solidified the author’s brand. I mean, she’s not just here for your sweet, new adult contemporary romance. She can write the steamier stuff too.

Cooper’s book was, for me, the most emotional. Maybe it’s personal because I always get emotionally involved when there is a child involved in the love story. I loved Logan and his alpha-ness. I adored Heath and his sexy intelligence. I enjoyed Jackson and his nonchalance. Now, with Cooper, I have to say that he’s also a great hero too. And of course, I always have a thing for the artistic souls.

This is the best way to end the series. I mean, no offense to the other three brothers, but I really believe that from the first book up to now, Ms. Foster has escalated the emotional attachment that readers get with her characters. When Logan had his book, we were ll still getting to know them. He was a perfect first book because he was too male and too alpha to grab any readers attention and make them want to continue with the series. Heath and Jackson’s book were meant to significantly tighten the pull that the series has to the readers. Until finally, with this book, it is an explosion of everything that was good about this series. Once again, Ms. Foster delivers, and I’m so glad I got to read this entire series.

Review

So, this review is quite difficult for me to write because I am torn between loving this book and just “liking” it. I know there shouldn’t be any middle ground, but I can’t help it. Let me start first with the fact that I love the friends-to-lovers trope. I could read as many books with the friends-to-lovers theme and still not get bored with all the variations that can happen to the stories. Aside from that, I also love Melissa Foster’s books. Those two facts alone should guarantee that I love this book, right?

Here’s the part that makes me hesitant: I couldn’t get a lock on the relationship between the heroine and her supposedly “boyfriend”. I am sure that he is a nice, almost perfect guy and all, but I couldn’t reconcile the fact that he’d let his woman, one he asked to marry, go on her annual camping trip with the hero, one he knows has a complicated relationship with her. Okay, maybe that was a good thing because it just showed that he and the heroine weren’t right for each other and that the real conflict was between the main characters and their push and pull kind of relationship. That’s the only thing I wasn’t completely down with in this book.

However, everything else was great, as always. I think Jackson is probably the wildest out of the Wild brothers. Then again, I still have a fourth book to read. Well, I think that aside from the weird relationship that the heroine had with the men in her life, this book was hot, a little kinky, and still a lot sweet. Therefore, I guess I should say that I am happy, and I loved it. I am excited for the fourth book, and I’m already wishing there are more installments. Maybe a novella that would feature all Wild boys with the HEAs or something. Oh well, one can only hope.

Yesterday, on this blog, I reviewed Logan, the first book in Melissa Foster’s Wild Boys After Dark series, and I truly liked that book. It was racier than any MF book I’ve read before. And, let’s be honest, the hotter books are always my favorite. Today, I am going to review Heath, which is the second book in the series.

Doctor. Bachelor. Hot. That’s your hero. I mean, who wouldn’t want to land a guy like that, right? So right from the get go, I already knew that the main characters’ scheme of having just one night with each other was never going to work. I’ve read books like this before. One of them always starts wanting more. The thing about this book is that while you already know where things are going to end, you will still stick around to witness the journey.

This was a quick read for me, as there pretty much wasn’t a lot of complications to start with. However, those few hours that I spent devouring every page was well worth it because I had an awesome time with the characters. I am also looking forward to the third book, which I am sure will be another sexy and romantic story.

If you follow my blog, you’d know that I’ve read and reviewed several books from Melissa Foster, and I have kept on saying that she is amazing. However, I have never known her to write something as hot as her Wild Boys After Dark series. I mean, the vibe of the book is a bit darker. The scenes are sexier. The sexual tension was magnified. I loved her contemporary romances, but this side of her may have just elevated her even more.

Logan and Stormy were entertaining characters to read. From the get go, any reader just can’t help but root for them. The heroine was a strong woman who overcame challenges that would break a weak person. The hero, well, he’s swoonworthy. I mean, I know I’ve said it before that Ms. Foster’s heroes are easy to fall for. But with her amping up the alpha-ness and in this series, Logan was just the perfect character for someone like Stormy.

I can’t wait tor ead and review the next books because it this first book was any indication of how the series goes, I can tell you now that you’re bound to be pleasantly hooked into the Wild men. Of course, that’s what we are all looking for in a romance novel, right?

There are books and series that I just love following. Melissa Foster’s Love In Bloom series has become one of those for me. Seized By Love is yet another “spin-off” of a bigger series, Love In Bloom. Beginning with this book, we are being introduced to the Ryders, a new family that will, no doubt, capture readers’ hearts. I love the setup of the Love In Bloom series because it branches out from one family to another, but the skeleton of an MF book is still very evident with every book. That’s family, love, and friends.

I loved the hero of this book. Blue was a true nice guy who wasn’t afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve. He’s been in love with the heroine for long, and he never gave up on her even when she kept fighting his efforts. The heroine was a girl who was strong. She was the type to do anything she can for her family. They main characters were really a great match because they were both family-oriented and loyal people.

I am the kind of person who likes their books dirty and messy and even unredeemable sometimes. Most of the time, though, I like contemporary romance novels for the simple fact that they are realistic, the characters and the plot could simply happen to anyone, and that it’s easy to picture an entire book in your head because there are so many things to relate to in the book. Ms. Foster always does a wonderful job of giving her readers amazing characters that are easy to identify with. Whatever type of person you are, from whatever social circle you belong to, you’ll definitely find yourself in at least on of her books. Seized By Love is definitely a hugely enjoyable read for me that I’d love to recommend.
